In a bid to avoid potential supply chain shortages, the mass production of the devices began with tech giant Apple adding to its list of suppliers for the iPhone 14 series. Components from SG Micro passed the quality certification for the high-end iPhone 14 models, in order to indicate the Chinese company green lightning supplying the components for the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
SG Micro has a specialization in integrated circuits, and Apple uses its power management integrating circuitry in the upcoming iPhones.
SG Micro provides the components for high-end iPhones, implying that its technical capabilities reach the “tier-1 level” required for use in premium consumer electronics.
Some of the iPhone 14 components as display panels face supply chain issues, but the analyst believes it will have limited impact on the problem of upcoming mass production of iPhone 14 models, expected to be announced in September.
The lineup includes the 6.1-inch iPhone 14, 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max, 6.1-inch iPhone 14 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Pro Max, the tech giant discontinuing the 5.4-inch iPhone mini this year.
According to the upcoming iPhone 14 likely priced to be $100 more costlier than iPhone 13.
